Virginia Messina, Senior Vice President WTTC said: “The news from the EU today is encouraging and will welcomed by the wider Travel & Tourism sector. We hope to see EU Ministers and Member States adopt this position to ensure a strong summer and enhance economic recovery as a result.

“This decision will aid the restoration of international mobility, and will help bring back millions of jobs and livelihoods that depend in our sector.

“However, we shouldn’t discriminate against those yet to be immunised or are unable to get the jab. So, we must allow those who aren’t, the opportunity to travel with a negative COVID-19 test alongside other health and safety measures.”
